If you’re interested in the business of helping others improve and maintain their health and fitness or if you enjoy sports, you may want to consider a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in fitness and sport management. The degree is also available with secondary teacher certification.

At Cumberlands, you will study with caring, experienced faculty members who can help you tailor a program of study unique to your interests. As you build a strong academic foundation, you will learn a variety of skills necessary to helping individuals live healthier lives, including the use of technology and communication skills.

Upon successful completion of the course work you will be prepared to take an optional national examination for certification by: the American College of Sports Medicine; the American Council on Exercise; the National Council of Strength and Fitness or the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

This interdisciplinary program seeks to prepare students for a fitness management career in such fields as: sports marketing and promotion, corporate fitness; fitness management, or health club management. You will be well-equipped, whether you choose to teach, continue in graduate school or begin your career in the multi-billion dollar fitness and sports industry.
